INTRO

Globo+ is an indoor dual technology wireless volumetric detector (IR + MW). The battery is pre-installed, has a life of up to 5 years, and is equipped with a PIR detector and a 24 Ghz microwave detector, which can detect the presence of intruders within 12 meters. Easy-fix mounting support for easy installation. It’s equipped with a Fresnel lens with 9 horizontal beams with coverage up to 90 , and 4 vertical beams.

OPERATION

Globo + works within the D’AVINCI system with a range of up to 1500 meters (in free space) by connecting, via radio, directly to the Lisa control panel or via Automa repeater. The communication is bidirectional (transmission/reception) with the indication of confirmation of receipt and command. In the case of obstacles such as walls, objects, etc. the range is reduced.

The communication protocol, like the connections between all the components of the system, is the GENIO, encrypted and protected from interception.
The sensor configuration is via D’AVINCI app downloadable free of charge from IOS and Android.

Antimask active on IR for lens contact blinding.
Configuration of the IR sensitivity on three levels, warning LEDs for alarm.
The detector operates on two frequencies in the 868 MHz band, automatically and dynamically positioned on the one that is free or less interfered.

It has an optional joint for ceiling or wall installation.

DEVICE CONFIGURATION IN THE D’AVINCI SYSTEM

Warning. Before proceeding with adding the device:
  1. Install the D’AVINCI application, available for iOS / Android, on your smartphone.
  2. Create an account. Add an Alarm Panel D’AVINCI, save the necessary settings and create at least a Room.
  3. Make sure the Control Panel is turned on and has internet access via ethernet.
  4. Make sure the Control panel is off and not running updates by checking its status via the mobile application.

To add a device to the control panel, in the D’AVINCI app1

  1. Select the Tab Device 2
  2. Click on  Add Device
  3. Assign a name to the device
  4. Insert the device serial number on the label or click on the icon  to acquire the code via app.
  5. Select the Room associated for the device.
  6. Click on Add – a countdown will start
  7. Remove the tab from the battery, so as to Power the device (see installation phase of the device).

The detector led will emit a flashing light when it is switched on.

When paired with the control panel, the detector will appear in the list of devices in the D’AVINCI App.

Then it will be necessary to close the tamper, placing it on its bracket , this to allow you to carry out the calibration phase, with the flashing red LED for about a minute. When the warning lamp is switched off, the device is ready to detect movements and transmit them to the control panel.

The connection request to the Control Panel is transmitted for a short period of time as soon as the device is switched on.

If the connection to the D’AVINCI control panel fails, turn off the detector for 5 seconds and repeat the procedure.

1 Installer privileges are required

2The device must be located within the radio communication zone of the associated Control Panel in order to start the configuration procedure.

DETECTOR INSTALLATION

Make sure you have selected the ideal installation location according to the guidelines in this manual.
The location of the sensor affects the connection to the Control Panel and any obstacles between the devices may block the transmission of the radio signal. Such obstacles can be walls, floors or large objects within a room.

To install the device:

Fix the bracket to the wall using the screws supplied.

Remove the battery tab

Fix the detector to the holder.

Selecting the Detector Installation Location

The total size of the protected area and, consequently, the efficiency of the safety system depend on the location of the detector.

The device is intended for installation in indoor spaces only.

The location of the Globo detector affects the connection to the Control Panel and any obstacles between the devices may block the transmission of the radio signal.
Such obstacles can be walls, floors or large objects within a room.

Check the signal level at the installation site.

If the signal level is low, the stable operation of the safety system is not guaranteed. Please take any measures to improve the quality of the signal! First, try to move the device: a move of only 20 cm can greatly improve the quality of the reception

If the device still has a low or unstable signal strength after moving, use a radio signal booster.

It is recommended that the detector lenses be oriented perpendicular to the likely point of access to the room.

Ensure that there are no furniture, houseplants, vases, decorative or glass structures blocking the detector’s field of view.

It is recommended to install the detector at a height of 2.4 meters.

If the detector is not installed at the recommended height, the motion detection area will be reduced.

Do not install the detector:

  • In unprotected areas or premises (outdoors).
  • Near metal objects or mirrors that may attenuate or block the radio signal.
  • Next to other radio devices (gsm/wireless router/etc.) to avoid mutual interference
  • In environments where temperature or humidity values may be higher than the limits indicated in Technical specifications.

OPERATING SETTINGS

The detector settings can be changed in the D’AVINCI app (Installer privileges are required):

  1. Go to device tab
  2. Select the device from the list.
  3. Go to settings by clicking on the icon

DEVICE NAME
Detector name, displayed in the device list and as notification text. Can contain up to 24 characters.

ROOM
Selecting the virtual room to which the device is assigned the environment name appears in notifications.
Note: Changing this parameter requires Administrator privileges

METHOD OF ALARM
It shows how the detector reacts to alarms.

Instantaneous: the detector, when the system is in place, immediately signals the alarm.

Delayed: the detector, with the system inserted, signals the alarm after a time counter (see input/ output delay).

Input delay: 5 to 120 seconds.
Entry delay is the time that the user has to disconnect the system after entering the protected area.
Output delay: 5 to 120 seconds.
Exit delay is the time that the user has to leave the protected area after insertion.

Continued: The detector adds input/output delays of devices that detected an alarm before it. When activated individually, it immediately triggers the alarm.

STAY MODE ARMED
Pairing the detector to night mode. This type of insertion allows, for example, to insert the perimeter area and allows people to move freely in other areas.

  • Input delay in stay mode: 5 to 120 seconds.
Entry delay is the time that the user has to disconnect the system after entering the protected area.
  • Output delay in stay mode: 5 to 120 seconds.
Exit delay is the time that the user has to leave the protected area after insertion.

ALWAYS ACTIVE

If this option is enabled, the detector is always armed, detects the alarm condition and sends the signal to the Control Panel.

No: the device works normally and transmits all events/alarms.
Total: The device does not execute the sent commands. The system ignores the
device and its notifications.
Tamper Only: The system ignores notifications regarding activation of the device’s tamper button (tamper).

REMOVE DEVICE
Dissociate the detector from the Control Panel, removing it from the app and deleting the device settings.

INTENSITY GENIO SIGNAL

The level of the radio signal GENIO is determined by the number of packets sent by the detector and the actual number of packets received by the associated control panel.

To display the signal strength select the card Devices and the signal level field GENIO

0 = No radio signal, no connection to control panel.
= Poor radio signal, unstable connection with the Control Panel , operation of the detector not guaranteed.
• • = Low radio signal, low signal strength.
• • • = Good radio signal, good signal strength.
• • • • =  Excellent radio signal, optimal signal strength.

Check the radio signal strength before the final installation of the device. In case of low or unstable signal it is recommended to use the Automa repeater.

REPLACING THE BATTERIES

Keep the detector housing clean by immediately removing dust, cobwebs and other impurities. Use a soft, dry towel for equipment maintenance.
To clean the detector, avoid the use of substances containing alcohol, acetone, gasoline or other active solvents.

The battery life of the detector depends on the quality of the battery, the frequency of activation of the detector and the ping interval between detector and Central.

If the battery of the detector is low, the user receives a notification via D’AVINCI app.

Open the battery compartment on the back of the sensor.

Remove the battery, replace it and close the cover.
